I suppose I should make some effort to revive this old dilapidated blog of mine. So for the first post of 2012, I will post the first concept drawing that I’ve done from beginning till the end in Photoshop. Surprising as it may sound, I have never actually drawn anything in Photoshop before. I have always preferred the tactile feel of pencil on paper rather than the overly smooth feel of the wacom. So all this while what I have always done was to draw everything on paper before digitizing it in Photoshop.
But times change and so I too must change along with it. So here’s my first ever attempt at actually creating a drawing from scratch in Photoshop. BTW its done mainly for a class demo. I am going to use it for modeling the character in 3D. And if you find the design familiar, its actually based on the Babydoll character from Sucker Punch.
Well, its never too late for an old dog to learn tricks. I AM BACK BABY!
CG Environments
Wow, its been a long long time since I posted anything here, Can’t believe the last entry was way back in July. Anyway here’s 3 recent environment that I did for a class demo. Average time spent per environment is 3-4 hours. Stay tuned, I will probably upload the making of videos soon on my youtube channel.

You know the loud groaning sound you heard all over singapore last week- that’s the collective noise made by every single living singaporean on this island rolling their eyes so far back into their head, they could actually see the roots of their hair sprouting from the back of their skulls when they heard Tong Leung was going to be playing Lee Kuan Yew in a new movie called 1965.
Which Tong Leung again?
Oh, this guy…
Let’s see, the last 2 period dramas that Tony Leung starred in that was roughly set somewhere between WW2 and the mid 60s is Lust, Caution and In the Mood For Love.
In Lust, Caution, Tony Leung plays a roguishly handsome Japanese collaborator who has a lot of sex with a Chinese female resistance fighter.
In the other movie- In the Mood for Love, Tony Leung plays a roguishly handsome journalist who stares longingly at Maggie Cheung while hoping to have a lot of sex.
Roguishly handsome, sex and romance- yeah, I could totally see the striking resemblance there.
Handsome, romantic and sexy- the very 3 words that is as far from your mind as you can think of when LKY comes to mind. In fact when I think of LKY, the only adjectives that I can come up with is merciless ass-kicker.
Which is why, the only HK actor who can portray LKY in all his merciless ass-kicking glory is HK very own Ass-kicker du jour of the hour- Donnie Yen himself.
Don’t believe me?
Just check out this homemade teaser trailer and see if you still disagree with me-
