i think it is scary that you’re placing your sacronsanct democratic voting responsibility and power over ONE incident,albeit one thats been blowned into inappropriate proportions because emotions are thrown into this whirlwind of abusive epithets hurled at this poor 18 yr old.

to say that she’s an ‘ass hole’ (i quote), you are displaying such contentious attitude toward this event. are you more interested in pulling her down or are you seriously a concerned citizen who will step back and take stock objectively,trace the issue to its core and help think of solutions to help reverse this ill trend of growing elitism? why do you all seem to feel this entire saga is about ONE girl’s comments? why do you all react, rather like a herd of wild and angered animals, so vehemently against her, as if your opponent and sole enemy is WSM, not the entire school of thought that is slowly, but surely creeping into our social fabric? so what if WSM is utterly disgraced and put down into the halls of perpetual social shame? does it rid our society of such multiplying viewpoints in the long term? if you’re a sheer optimist, perhaps you will subscribe to the idealistic doctrine that with such ‘bottom-up, united’ front of opposition toward a supposed ‘fine product of the system propagated by the ruling regime’ by the electorate, actions will be compelled by the govt to actually ameliorate this situation. but if history and the attitude and ability of this govt in power is anything to go by or base our analysis and hopes about, one will conclusively realise that in order of real changes to be made, there must be people willing to change the situation from within. aimless, and solution-less rantings and talk about hated emotions on this alternative media will not be the single most important step to take.

i look forward to constructive responses by the public, who dared to speak and step forward with such gusto in their opinions decrying WSM. i hope the similar ‘dare’ will resonant once again, to dispell the belief that sporeans are largely pple who will confront challenges and issues ONLY behind the comfort of a screen in an aircon room, sipping tea and with the ipod plugged in stylishly. if you’re convicted enough, you wont just stop there.

well i have to say, lest anti-WSM personnels start to bemoan the mere existence of my perspective, that im against WSM’s remarks in principle. im not convinced, or even swayed to do so, by the endless streams of comments against WSM which are all complaints and whines;the very first thing WSM highlighted in her blog. i agree her expression was too tough and insensitive. i agree she needed concerned members of the public to respond to her with their 2cents worth. however, ultimately, i do not agree that this entire saga should end without a concrete initial sprouting of a new school of thought and solutions,no matter how inchoate in its extent and intent,to tackle this worrying trend of breeding elitism.

pls, my bottom line is, you r free to disagree and even hold WSM’s comments with disgust and contempt, but pls also, move on from your ceaseless streams of rheotric and start providing credible sources of solutions.
