Pulling a Fast One (PAP Style)
And this is why I think this PAP gahmen is so full of shit. With the general election just around the corner and the raising tide of discontentment among the citizenry, I guess the gahmen feels they have no choice put to once again put on a wayang show to try and appease the electorate.
So what they do is to try and pull a fast one thinking everyone is stupid and the only smart people in singapore is them.
First they raise the school fees for foreigners studying in local schools. Next they announced the plan to reduce health care subsidies for PRs.
WHATEVER.
Look here, you fucking idiots, what does it mean for me or every other singaporeans, that you plan to raise school fees and cut healthcare subsidies?
A big fat nothing.
Just because you plan to treat foreigners like shit doesn’t mean you’re not treating singaporeans like shit too. Its just that now, you are giving foreigners an even shittier treatment. Citizens are still going to paying the same rate regardless of whether you are cutting subsidies or not. Its not like whatever money you save from cutting them are channelled back into the pockets of singaporeans.
No.
You cut subsidies and the money goes back to you while singaporeans and now foreigners are both screwed alike.

Exactly the point I had pointed out some time ago in Diary of a Singaporean mind blog. The PAP makes themselves look like gods in the twisted way to promote themselves. Basically foreigners just pay more. Nothing changed for locals. I won’t be surprised if they make it compulsory for foreigners to take a two years hiatus while we continue to do NS. In the nutshell, nothing is changed while locals still continue to suffer.
Look at the Wage Credit scheme. It’s basically using your own money to pay yourself. And they ingenously package it as if it’s god’s gift to us from the PAP. If you take a step back, you are just funding yourself. For the employing company, they wouldn’t give two hoots if you want to retrench you.
Kaffein
Maybe they are using one stone to kill two birds.
1) Increase the cost of living for FT, that may make some singaporean happy, but I’m not, cos like you said – I’m still living like shit, trying to make ends meet.
2) Force more FT to take up citizenship to “enjoy” the same benifits (where are they?) like singaporean. Then spend more of our (tax) money to integrate them.
Hahaha… what do that help us singaporean.
I’ve spoken to one of my ex-colleague, who took up singapore citizenship years ago. His reason for that – he can enjoy all the benifits like a singapore and when he decided to go home he’ll just give up his singapore citizenship and sell his HDB flat.

Me and my girlfriend just received a lift upgrade recently. We stay in the east and north respectively. what a coincidence that these upgrades happen only when election is around the corner.
I’m tired of these enjoy the 1st year and suffer for the next 4 kind of life.
Cheat me once, I’m an idiot. Cheat me twice , you’re an idiot.
